In a major crackdown against narcotics networks, Jharkhand Police seized illicit substances valued at over Rs 2.54 crore, culminating in the arrest of seven individuals across five districts. The biggest haul occurred in Khunti district, where authorities intercepted 1,388 kg of poppy husk heading for Uttar Pradesh from a truck near Bhalutoli village.

The vehicle, loaded with 69 sacks of contraband and registered in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district, was abandoned by its driver upon spotting law enforcement, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Christopher Kerketta reported. Meanwhile, police in Ramgarh seized 14.52 grams of brown sugar and arrested two drug peddlers.

Similar successful operations were executed in Simdega and Bokaro districts, yielding significant quantities of ganja alongside firearms. In another operation, authorities dismantled an illicit liquor manufacturing unit in Ramgarh. These busts follow Chief Minister Hemant Soren's directive to intensify actions against drug networks.
