Tragedy Strikes: Four Lives Lost Near Kakrapar Dam

In a tragic incident near the Kakrapar dam in Gujarat's Surat district, four individuals drowned, officials reported on Tuesday. The unfortunate event began when 23-year-old Kaushik Chaudhary did not return after taking his cattle to the river on Monday morning.
Concerned about his disappearance, Chaudhary's brother, uncle, and a friend commenced a search operation on Tuesday. They found his clothes on the riverbank, indicating potential drowning. In a desperate bid to find him, they entered the river, but were tragically pulled into a vortex and drowned.
The local fire department and police were able to recover all four bodies after extended search efforts. Three of the deceased were residents of Vakala village, while the fourth was from Kanja village. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examinations, said Inspector Jayesh Valvi of the Mandvi police station.
