The transparency of the Food Corporation of India's (FCI) examination procedures has come under scrutiny after the Central Information Commission (CIC) mandated a verification of exam results. The CIC instructed FCI to file an affidavit verifying that the results from a departmental promotion exam held by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) were unchanged when published.
The issue surfaced after an applicant's Right to Information request for the promotion exam's details was initially denied. FCI cited the sensitivity of the password-protected result file shared by IBPS as the reason for non-disclosure, prompting the appeal.
During the hearing, FCI assured the Commission that the published results mirrored those supplied by IBPS. To ensure accountability, CIC has given FCI a 15-day deadline to submit an affidavit confirming the authenticity of the published results.
