India has launched an ambitious global innovation outreach initiative aimed at positioning the country as a leading technology developer and innovation partner for the world, with the Ministry of Education hosting a high-level diplomatic interaction on Bharat Innovates 2026 ahead of the flagship international event scheduled to take place in Nice, France, in June next year.

The high-level interaction, organised at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi, brought together ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats and senior officials from the Government of India to deliberate on opportunities for global collaboration through India's rapidly expanding innovation and startup ecosystem.

Bharat Innovates 2026 will be held from 14–16 June 2026 in Nice, France, under the framework of the India-France Year of Innovation, and is expected to emerge as one of India's most significant international technology and research collaboration platforms.

India Positioning Itself as Global Technology Developer

Addressing the diplomatic gathering, Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said India is increasingly transforming global disruptions and emerging challenges into opportunities for innovation-led growth.

He stated that India is no longer merely a technology consumer or market but is rapidly evolving into a technology creator and trusted innovation partner for the international community.

"India today sees global disruptions and challenges as opportunities for new innovations and is emerging as one of the leading countries shaping future growth," Shri Pradhan said.

The Minister highlighted that over the past decade, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, innovation and research have become national priorities supported through major reforms and investments across education, science, entrepreneurship and technology sectors.

National Education Policy and Startup Ecosystem Driving Innovation Culture

Shri Pradhan said India's youthful demographic profile, rapidly expanding startup ecosystem and reforms such as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Atal Innovation Mission are collectively helping build a culture of:

  • Critical thinking

  • Multidisciplinary learning

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Research and development

  • Knowledge creation

  • Innovation-led problem solving

India has emerged as one of the world's largest startup ecosystems, with growing strength in sectors such as:

  • Artificial intelligence

  • Deep technology

  • Biotechnology

  • Clean energy

  • Space technology

  • Fintech

  • Healthcare innovation

  • Semiconductor research

Government officials say Bharat Innovates 2026 aims to accelerate global engagement with this rapidly growing ecosystem.

Bharat Innovates 2026 Envisioned as Global Innovation Movement

According to Shri Pradhan, Bharat Innovates 2026 is not merely a technology exhibition but a large-scale global innovation movement designed to connect innovators, investors, institutions, industries and governments.

He emphasized India's philosophy of "innovation for inclusion", stating that Indian innovations are intended not only to address domestic developmental needs but also to offer scalable, affordable and inclusive solutions to global challenges — particularly for countries in the Global South.

The Minister invited the international community to actively participate in the France event, stressing that India seeks collaborative growth through partnerships rather than isolated advancement.

"India does not want to grow alone but seeks growth through partnership, cooperation and collaboration," Shri Pradhan said.

He reiterated Prime Minister Modi's vision that technology and innovation must ultimately serve humanity while ensuring inclusive development.
