Mehbooba Mufti Calls for Dialogue with Pakistan, Criticizes National Conference on Power Projects

The chief of the People's Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti, expressed her support for recent remarks made by RSS figure Dattatreya Hosabale, advocating for dialogue with Pakistan as a means to resolve ongoing tensions.

Mufti emphasized the importance of maintaining open communication channels, recalling how past discussions during the tenures of leaders like Manmohan Singh positively impacted Jammu and Kashmir by reducing militancy. In her view, dialogue is the only viable path to peace in the region.

In addition, Mufti critiqued the National Conference's reliance on liquor revenue, blaming their management of power projects. She argued that better handling of these resources could have eliminated the need for alcohol sales while addressing unemployment and energy supply issues.
