States Unite: Major Water Projects in Focus

Haryana and Rajasthan Chief Ministers met with Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil to address water resource management. Discussions also covered water schemes for Haryana and Rajasthan's transit system as well as waterlogging issues.

Chief Ministers from Haryana and Rajasthan gathered in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil to deliberate on water resource issues affecting their states. Senior officials attended to escalate discussions on collaborative solutions.

Crucial topics included the Kishau Dam project, with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stressing the urgency of formalizing agreements between the involved states. Patil directed his secretary to organize a cross-state meeting for swift decision-making concerning water sharing and electricity generation rights.

Besides the dam project, Saini highlighted the need to fast-track the scheme to bring water from Upper Ganga Canal to Haryana's regions. Additional talks pointed towards projects for water supply in Gurugram and Nuh and transportation systems in Rajasthan, alongside tackling waterlogging issues in Najafgarh.
