Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar's son, Bhageerath, failed to appear before police on Wednesday in a POCSO case where he is accused of sexually harassing a minor. The case stems from allegations made by the mother of a 17-year-old girl who claims Bhageerath was involved with her daughter.
Sources claim that Bhageerath has made a written request for a two-day deferment to the police; however, officials have not acknowledged receiving such a letter. Multiple police teams are actively searching for him as he has yet to present himself for the investigation as instructed.
The suspect sought anticipatory bail from the Telangana High Court, and the hearing is anticipated on May 14. Police intensified the case by applying more stringent charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, initially registered on May 8.
