In a response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's austerity call, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla announced on Thursday that his official convoy will see its vehicle count halved. Shukla commended PM Modi for setting an example by reducing his own motorcade.
Having previously taken steps to limit his convoy size upon assuming office, the Governor is making further cuts, trimming the vehicle strength by 50 percent at Lok Bhavan. He highlighted this decision as part of a broader effort to adhere to the Prime Minister's guidelines.
Governor Shukla also called on the Chief Minister to instruct cabinet ministers and government officials to adopt similar measures. Additionally, he urged political leaders across the state to minimize unnecessary vehicles in their convoys, emphasizing the shared responsibility of promoting awareness about the austerity initiative and its potential benefits in saving foreign exchange.
