Former West Bengal food minister Rathin Ghosh appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday regarding the alleged civic recruitment scam. Ghosh had previously missed five summonses, attributing his absence to political engagements and campaigning.
Upon arriving at the ED office in Salt Lake's CGO Complex around 10 am, Ghosh remarked that he was unaware of the specific reason for his summons. This comes in the wake of the arrest of former fire services minister Sujit Bose, who also faced multiple ED summons during the same investigation.
Enforcement Directorate officials plan to interrogate Ghosh over allegations of illicit recruitment practices in civic bodies. The situation underscores ongoing tensions about issues of corruption and accountability within West Bengal's political landscape.
