In a decisive move to uplift backward classes in Telangana, the state's government will allocate funds to newly-formed caste-specific corporations, announced Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. This unprecedented initiative aims to facilitate special welfare programs, with clear guidelines for fund disbursement, as emphasized by Prabhakar during a recent event.
The corporations, a brainchild of the Congress government, will target assistance toward various backward classes. For instance, Dongari Venkateswarlu has recently assumed charge as Chairman of the Perika caste corporation, which reflects the focus on structured welfare initiatives.
Highlighting past successes, Prabhakar praised the Perika community for its longstanding socio-educational contributions, such as managing a hostel for students in Hyderabad for 50 years. The government's steps signify a new chapter in community-centric governance.
