India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reinforced their strategic alliance by signing a series of landmark agreements on Friday. These encompass strategic petroleum reserves, long-term LPG supply, defense, and shipping agreements, with the UAE pledging to invest USD 5 billion in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in high-level discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan amid escalating tensions in West Asia. A significant agreement includes a framework for a strategic defense partnership focusing on defense industrial collaboration, technology sharing, and regional security cooperation.

The UAE's investment aims to strengthen India's energy security and includes cooperation on petroleum reserves and gas storage facilities. These agreements come as India seeks to secure its energy supplies, with concerns over disruptions due to regional conflicts.
