Court Denies Bail in TCS Harassment-Conversion Scandal

A Nashik court on Friday denied bail to five individuals involved in the TCS sexual harassment and forced conversion scandal. The accused include Tausif Attar, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Asif Ansari, and Ashwini Chainani, as confirmed by public prosecutor Vijay Gaikwad.

Bail arguments were presented between May 11 and 13, with the prosecution and defence detailing their cases before the court reserved judgement for Friday. The defence argued the arrests were procedurally flawed, but special public prosecutor Ajay Misar asserted compliance with Supreme Court guidelines in the detentions.

The defence also criticized the timing of the complaints, questioning why they were filed simultaneously after two years of alleged incidents. However, the prosecution clarified that the victims came forward only after gaining sufficient confidence, leading the Nashik police's Special Investigation Team to tackle nine molestation and harassment cases at the company.
