Viral Video Sparks Probe Against Policeman in Drunken Assault Incident

Authorities have launched a probe after a video surfaced showing a policeman, allegedly intoxicated, assaulting a man on a road. The incident occurred near the municipal office on GT Road under the Kotwali Nagar police jurisdiction.

Witnesses reported that a UP-112 police vehicle arrived following reports of an intoxicated individual by the roadside. However, one officer, identified as Diwan Pawan Chaudhary, was reportedly found inebriated and seen on video physically assaulting the man.

Senior Superintendent of Police Elamaran G stated that an investigation led by Circle Officer (City) Kirtika Singh has been initiated. The public demands strict measures and medical examination of the involved officers.
