A police officer in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district reportedly shot his wife dead during a heated argument late Friday night, officials announced. Deep Singh, a probationary sub-inspector with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, allegedly killed his wife, Bhawana, at their residence.
The incident occurred at Singh's posting location in the special operations group camp in Kandi. Following the fatal shooting, Singh attempted to take his own life. He is currently hospitalized and remains in critical condition, officials confirmed.
