A disturbing cybercrime has surfaced in Bhadohi district, Uttar Pradesh, involving AI-generated obscenity used for blackmail. Local police have charged a cyber cafe operator, Talib, and his brother, Rafiq, for targeting women with fake obscene photos.
The case unfolded when a 25-year-old woman was extorted for Rs 50,000 after being threatened with the publication of doctored images and chat logs by Talib, who befriended her online. Following the payment in Gyanpur, the harassment continued with further demands sent to her husband's phone.
Officials revealed that this pattern of deceit may have victimized numerous women, swindling them out of considerable sums. Authorities have issued arrest orders for the duo under extortion charges and the IT Act to bring them to justice.
