A 48-year-old woman, Sushma Devi, was reportedly assaulted by unknown assailants in the Sunni area on Friday evening. The incident unfolded as Devi was returning home after withdrawing her candidacy for the local panchayat elections.
The attack involved two men who appeared from nearby bushes, inflicting injuries on Devi, law enforcement sources confirmed. An FIR has been filed against the unidentified perpetrators, and authorities have commenced an investigation into the case.
