In a significant breakthrough, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested an Indian national from Uttarakhand, intensifying its probe into an international drug trafficking racket. This follows the recent seizure of Captagon, a highly stimulant drug, marking the first instance of its kind in India.

The NCB had earlier apprehended a Syrian national, Alabras Ahmad, after confiscating approximately 227 kg of the drug in both tablet and powder forms during 'Ragepill,' an operation named by officials. Captagon, known for its components fenetylline and amphetamine, has controversial links to ISIS, earning the nickname 'Jihadi Pill.'

Investigations revealed that part of the seized drug was allegedly produced at the Green Herbal factory in Dehradun last month. NCB agents recently raided the facility, uncovering sophisticated machinery and various drug manufacturing materials. This factory owner, now arrested, is connected to former drug-related offenses under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
