A laborer has died in west Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area after reportedly receiving an electric shock from an iron railing in a local park, according to police reports on Sunday. The deceased, identified as Rohit, was attempting to access water from a park tap when the incident occurred, officials said.

Witnesses and local residents allege that numerous individuals had suffered electric shocks from the same railing earlier that day, prompting repeated complaints to the temple management and local authorities, which went unheeded. Residents cite a government-installed water tap situated near a temple and park as frequently accessed by locals.

The victim's brother, Shivam, revealed that Rohit was electrocuted around 8:30 PM on Saturday while filling a water can. Locals helped Rohit but found it too late as doctors declared him deceased upon arrival at the hospital. An investigation is underway to explore if electrical negligence or illegal wiring linked to the park's iron railing caused the incident.
