In a significant military escalation, Pakistan has deployed 8,000 troops, a fighter jet squadron, and an advanced air defense system to Saudi Arabia, as reported for the first time. This strategic move under a mutual defense pact aims to bolster Saudi Arabia's defense capabilities amidst heightened regional tensions with Iran.

The deployment, which remains unconfirmed by the governments of both countries, marks a substantial increase in Pak-Saudi military cooperation. Sources reveal that the defense pact commits both nations to support each other in the event of an attack, potentially placing Saudi Arabia under Pakistan's nuclear umbrella.

Alongside the 8,000 troops, Pakistan has dispatched around 16 JF-17 fighter aircraft and two squadrons of drones. The forces predominantly serve advisory and training roles, supporting pre-existing Pakistani deployment in the kingdom, with potential for expansion to 80,000 troops.
