A dramatic scene unfolded outside the district magistrate's office in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, when lawyer Ishaan Mishra attempted self-immolation to protest police inaction regarding his assault case.
Mishra, a resident of the Khatibaba area in Premnagar, alleged he had been assaulted in his chamber by a senior advocate and others, who also stole money from him.
The local police, led by Superintendent Preeti Singh, intervened to prevent Mishra from harming himself and announced an inquiry into the matter to ensure fair investigation and action.
