The crime branch launched an investigation into the suspicious disappearance and subsequent death of Shantigiri Goswami in October 2025, arresting the victim's wife Jagrutiben and her alleged accomplice Kantilal Sabariya. The case, initially treated as an accident, took a turn after a technical probe and human intelligence provided new insights.

Accusations have surfaced, suggesting Jagrutiben conspired with Sabariya due to ongoing domestic disputes. An official release indicates that their alleged plot led to the murder.
