A case that was initially filed as an accidental death last year in Gujarat's Surendranagar district has been revealed to be a planned murder. This development follows the arrest of two individuals, including the wife of the victim, seven months after the incident, police said on Monday.
The crime branch launched an investigation into the suspicious disappearance and subsequent death of Shantigiri Goswami in October 2025, arresting the victim's wife Jagrutiben and her alleged accomplice Kantilal Sabariya. The case, initially treated as an accident, took a turn after a technical probe and human intelligence provided new insights.
Accusations have surfaced, suggesting Jagrutiben conspired with Sabariya due to ongoing domestic disputes. An official release indicates that their alleged plot led to the murder. The investigation continues, unraveling the efforts to cover up the crime and the active roles both accused played in its execution.
