35-year-old lineman dies of electrocution in UP's Kannauj

A 35-year-old lineman with the Uttar Pradesh electricity department died of electrocution while performing repairs on a transformer in the Kannauj district.

A 35-year-old contractual lineman of the Uttar Pradesh electricity department died of electrocution while performing repairs on a transformer at the power station located in the Kannauj district, officials said.

Chhibramau MLA Archana Pandey, SDM Gyanendra Kumar Dwivedi, and Circle Officer (CO) Suresh Chandra arrived at the scene and talked to the family.

Dwivedi said that the deceased has been identified as Shiv Sagar alias Sarmu (35).

The incident took place at around 3.00 pm, officials said.
