Poland and UK Forge Dynamic Defence Pact Amid Rising European Tensions

Poland and the UK are strengthening their diplomatic ties with a new defence and security treaty. This move, announced by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, aims to fortify defenses against Russia amidst increasing European security threats. Poland is set to bolster its diplomatic relationship with the United Kingdom through a new defence and security pact, focusing on strengthened defence against Russian threats, announced Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk before departing for London.

The UK will sign this treaty with Poland to enhance defence cooperation, aligning with previous agreements with France and Germany. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer highlighted the necessity for an even stronger partnership due to mounting challenges in Europe.

Both nations, significant allies of Ukraine, view Russia as a strategic threat. Prime Minister Tusk emphasized that the agreement will also cover cybersecurity, a crucial focus due to Poland’s position as a military aid hub, attracting Russian cyberattacks and espionage.
