The Indian Coast Guard, in partnership with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad, confiscated a significant illegal shipment off the Mundra coast. The joint operation netted 115 kilograms of cocaine, estimated to be worth Rs 1,150 crore, highlighting the ongoing challenge of securing maritime routes from drug trafficking.

The operation took place on the night of May 25 and 26 following detailed intelligence shared by ATS Gujarat about potential drug smuggling. During the operation, ICG interceptor boats carrying ATS officers searched the Mundra anchorage, where they observed suspicious activities on a vessel named MV Europe. Bags tossed overboard raised alarms, prompting immediate recovery efforts despite limited visibility. The cargo was confirmed to be cocaine after initial testing. The vessel is now under further investigation by joint forces.
