A court in Delhi has placed a pediatrician from Latur and a physics tutor from Pune in CBI custody for five days, as part of an investigation into the NEET-UG exam leak. The court accepted the Central Bureau of Investigation's request for further interrogation of the two educators, Manoj Shirure and Tejas Harshadkumar Shah.
These arrests are tied to a purported scheme where Shirure is said to have played a pivotal role in aiding three students, including a particular student's son from Renukai Chemistry Classes, in procuring exam questions from the NEET paper setter. Tejas Shah, a physics teacher at Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy, was detained for allegedly receiving leaked questions. With these arrests, the total number involved in this scandal has reached thirteen.
The National Testing Agency previously voided the May 3 NEET exam due to these leaks and has arranged a retest for June 21. Authorities apprehended Manisha Havaldar earlier as part of the investigation, highlighting the wide reach of compromising exam integrity.
