CJI Surya Kant Honors Retiring Justices Maheshwari and Mithal

In a heartfelt ceremony, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant expressed appreciation for the dedicated service of outgoing Supreme Court Judges J K Maheshwari and Pankaj Mithal. The farewell was organized by the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association to honor their significant contributions.
Justice Maheshwari, set to retire on June 28, and Justice Mithal, on June 16, were commended by Kant for their integrity and the dignified manner in which they carried out their roles. Justice Maheshwari emphasized the importance of judicial 'dharma' as constitutional morality and expressed gratitude to the legal community for their indispensable support throughout his career.
Reflecting on his journey, Justice Maheshwari acknowledged the role of legal practitioners in shaping his professional path, noting that respect from the bar is earned over time. Justice Mithal also shared his experience, marking a significant transition in their illustrious careers. The event was attended by Attorney General R Venkataramani, SCAORA President Devvrat, and others who paid tribute to the retiring justices.
