Anil Kumar, a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Kerala, found himself in legal trouble when Vigilance officials arrested him on bribery charges. The dramatic capture unfolded at his Cherthala residence following his acceptance of a Rs 50,000 bribe, allegedly a part of a larger Rs 2 lakh demand to release a seized waste removal vehicle.
As Kumar attempted to elude law enforcement by jumping from the first floor of his house, a chase ensued, resulting in his apprehension. The vehicle owner had alerted the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, guiding them to Kumar's residence where the bribe exchange took place. The officer is scheduled to appear in court as the investigation continues.
