Six Arrested in Delhi for Abduction and Robbery of Motorcyclist
Delhi Police have detained four men and two juveniles accusing them of kidnapping and robbing Abhinav Tripathi in Outer North Delhi. The Delhi Police have taken four men into custody and detained two juveniles for their alleged involvement in the abduction and robbery of an individual in North Delhi. The authorities reported that the crime unfolded on Urban Extension Road-II with the suspects targeting the victim to finance their extravagant lifestyle.
The incident, which occurred on May 27 in the early hours, involved intercepting the victim's motorcycle and forcibly taking him into a vehicle. The suspects are said to have assaulted him during the drive and later abandoned him after seizing his phone and motorcycle. Police investigations, assisted by CCTV analysis and local intelligence, led to the arrest of the accused.
The victim, Abhinav Tripathi, was reportedly on his way home from work in Shahbad Dairy when he was accosted. The suspects, identified as Harsh, Ankit, Sudhir, and Sanket, along with two teenagers from Haryana's Sonipat, were tracked down following the incident.
A statement from Deputy Commissioner of Police Hareshwar Swami confirmed the recovery of the stolen items and the vehicle used in the crime. Additionally, the police are exploring potential links to other highway-related crimes in the Delhi-Haryana region.
