Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla underscored the importance of engaging in fact-based debates, highlighting that such discussions not only fortify constitutional institutions but also uphold their dignity and public trust. His remarks came at an event marking the release of a rare compilation of 89 volumes from the Central Legislative Assembly proceedings, spanning 1924 to 1930, at the Delhi Assembly.

Birla, accompanied by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, emphasized the role of these volumes as a guiding resource for the younger generation. Highlighting the historical significance of the Delhi Assembly building, Birla noted that it was central to India's struggle for representative rights. He stressed that fact-based debates strengthen Indian democracy on a global scale. Rijiju praised the preservation efforts, which he said are vital for reinforcing democratic values.

The 'Vidhan Chetna' magazine was also unveiled, featuring in-depth articles on legislative practices. Both leaders noted the crucial responsibility to maintain the dignity of parliamentary bodies, emphasizing that the deterioration of such institutions could weaken democracy.
