Mayawati Calls for Support After Hamirpur Bridge Collapse, Demands Probe into Teen's Death

Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati has appealed to the Uttar Pradesh authorities to extend financial support to the families of those killed in the recent Hamirpur bridge collapse. She stressed the necessity for proper medical care for those injured in the tragic incident.
The bridge, under construction over the Betwa river, collapsed amid a storm early Friday, claiming the lives of six labourers and injuring three others when a section they were resting on gave way. This occurred between Parsani and Kandaur villages in the Lalpura police station jurisdiction.
In her statement shared on social media, Mayawati emphasized the urgent need for the government to address this matter with seriousness and provide adequate support to the affected families. Additionally, she stressed the importance of ensuring the best possible medical treatment for the injured.
Further, Mayawati commented on the murder of a teenager named Gopal Sharma in the Jewar area of Greater Noida, demanding an in-depth investigation and severe penalties for the culprits. She described the incident as deeply troubling and pressed for justice for the young victim.
