Manipur Cabinet Revamps Financial Practices and Approves Development Projects
In a strategic meeting, the Manipur Cabinet resolved to minimize government expenses by shrinking VIP convoys and pausing international travel funded by the state. The session also advanced development plans including a tourist project at Loktak and infrastructure expansion of national highways.

The Manipur Cabinet has taken significant steps to cut back on state expenses by reducing the number of vehicles in VIP convoys and halting government-sponsored foreign travel. This decision comes amid a wider call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address global economic challenges.
Held at the chief minister's secretariat, the cabinet meeting also approved various initiatives, including the filling of 173 Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife positions with central support. Moreover, the cabinet endorsed land compensation for enhancing the Imphal–Jiribam and Imphal–Dimapur highways, promising to speed up these projects.
Further resolutions include rationalizing organizational posts within the Manipur State Power Company Limited to improve employee promotion opportunities. The meeting also extended the New Development Bank-backed Water Supply Project and gave a green light to the 'Loktak Experience Project,' focusing on turning Loktak into a top tourist spot.
