The hearing concerning a potential breach of the Model Code of Conduct involving AAP parliamentarian Sanjay Singh was adjourned after the investigative officer missed the court session.
Previously scheduled for Friday, the MP-MLA court postponed proceedings until June 15, noting the officer's absence yet again.
The issue dates back to the 2021 Uttar Pradesh panchayat polls, during which a meeting allegedly occurred without official approval. Authorities claim the gathering supported district panchayat candidate Salma Begum, contravening electoral regulations.
The police lodged a case against Singh along with 12 named and 45 unidentified AAP affiliates. While 11 individuals, including Maqsood and Salim Ansari, were named in the chargesheet, the others outside custody were granted bail.
Sanjay Singh, a member of the Rajya Sabha, previously confronted legal challenges, complying with court demands by surrendering in July 2024, followed by bail on sureties and a personal bond.
