India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the Indian Navy's pivotal role in Operation Sindoor, which effectively immobilized the entire Pakistan Navy, limiting them to their ports. The operation, commenced on May 7, 2025, was a strategic response to the Pahalgam terror attack, resulting in decisive action against terror entities in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
In his address at the inauguration of the Nausena Shaurya Vatika, an open-air naval museum in Lucknow, Singh underscored the Indian Navy's continuous pressure during the operation. He praised the museum as a tribute to India's maritime heritage, predicting it will become an inspirational landmark and tourist hub.
Emphasizing the widespread impact of maritime security, Singh noted its importance even for landlocked areas, stating that the Indian Ocean is central to India's trade and economy. The museum, featuring significant naval artifacts like INS Gomati, aims to foster a deeper understanding of naval prowess among the public. Singh also lauded Uttar Pradesh's transformation under Yogi Adityanath's leadership, remarking on the state's improved law and order and increased investment opportunities.
Singh highlighted the growth in India's defense production, with exports now nearing Rs 40,000 crore, a substantial increase since before 2014. He assured future enhancements to the museum, including plans to display a submarine, further enriching the educational and historical value of the site.
