Tragic Drowning Incident Claims Life in Kullu's Beas River

A 25-year-old man tragically lost his life in the Beas River near the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh while trying to save his friend from drowning, according to local police.
Identified as Nikhil Kumar from Bhuntar, Kullu, he drowned during an outing to the Shiradh Mela. On their return, the group decided to bathe in a section of the river near Khalaranala. Unfortunately, the fun turned into tragedy when one friend drifted into deep waters. Nikhil's rescue attempt led him to be swept away by the strong river currents.
Despite swift efforts by nearby workers and police to pull both young men out of the river and rush them to Regional Hospital Kullu, Nikhil was pronounced dead on arrival. Authorities confirmed that drowning was the cause of death and noted no suspicious elements were found during the investigation.
