The Odisha government revealed plans to financially support the Sital Sasthi festival in Sambalpur with a significant allocation of Rs 1.8 crore. The festival, commemorating the divine marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, stands as a significant cultural event in the region.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the funding will be distributed among 21 festival committees. This financial backing, managed by the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department, aims to enhance the festival's grandeur. Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj emphasized the importance of such festivals in preserving Odisha's cultural identity on both national and international platforms.
