In Uttar Pradesh, local authorities have apprehended a man and two of his female relatives for their involvement in harassing a young woman, actions which reportedly pushed her to attempt suicide. This development follows a complaint lodged by the victim's family at TP Nagar police station.
According to the complaint, Aditya, the accused, persistently followed and molested the victim, an 18-year-old girl. When she resisted, he allegedly resorted to verbal abuse and threats using multiple phone numbers. The situation escalated as Aditya, along with his mother Surendri and sister Archana, pressured the family to retract their complaint, adding to the mental strain on the young woman, culminating in her ingesting poison.
A legal case was initiated under relevant sections, leading to the arrest of all three individuals. During interrogation, Aditya confessed to his actions, which included stalking and harassment, causing significant psychological pressure on the victim. The police have validated claims of coercion against the family to withdraw their complaint.
