Garib Kalyan Remains Modi Government’s Highest Priority: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has said that improving the lives of poor and underprivileged citizens remains the foremost priority of the Narendra Modi-led government. Highlighting the progress made over the past 12 years, he stated that several welfare programmes have helped bring millions of people into the formal financial system while expanding access to social security and economic opportunities.

According to Shah, government initiatives have enabled a large number of citizens to open bank accounts, access financial services and secure support for self-employment. These efforts have helped many families move closer to economic stability while reducing their dependence on informal sources of credit and assistance.

Major Welfare Programmes Reach Crores

In a post shared on social media platform X, the Home Minister pointed to several flagship schemes that have played a significant role in improving the lives of beneficiaries. Programmes such as the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and PM SVANidhi have expanded support to millions of households across the country.

These schemes have addressed a range of needs, including food security, housing, access to banking, credit for small businesses and financial assistance for street vendors. The initiatives have helped people from economically weaker sections participate more actively in the country's economy while creating opportunities for income generation and entrepreneurship.

Shah noted that these welfare measures have strengthened financial inclusion and provided a safety net for vulnerable sections of society. The government's focus has remained on ensuring that benefits reach eligible citizens directly and efficiently.
