Federal Crackdown: U.S. Seizes Fake Consulting Domains Linked to China

The Justice Department announced on Wednesday the seizure of 13 internet domains associated with fake consulting firms. These entities are accused of targeting current or former U.S. government and military employees to provide sensitive information to suspected Chinese agents.

Job listings for consulting or analyst roles were reportedly used to pressure applicants into divulging exclusive or insider information, according to the department's statement. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro emphasized that the seizures signify a determined effort to expose and dismantle any attempts to exploit Americans with access to sensitive data.

The domain seizures follow a joint warning from the 'Five Eyes' intelligence alliance regarding China's aggressive tactics on job platforms. The Chinese Embassy in Washington has denied these espionage allegations as fabricated and slanderous.
