Sean Davison, the founder and director of the pro-euthanasia organisation Dignity South Africa, made a brief appearance in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on murder charges.

The 58-year old euthanasia advocate heard at the court that a third murder charge had been filed against him. He already had two 'premeditated murder charges'. The third case relates to the death of athlete Richard Holland in Cape Town around November 8, 2015. Davison was accused of euthanizing Richard Holland who was tragically injured in a cycling accident three years before. Sean Davison is accused of administering a lethal amount of drugs to Holland.

Sean Davison was also accused of administering a lethal amount of drugs to his friend Anrich Burger in 2013 after the latter became a quadriplegic following a car crash. He was later detained by the South African cops at his home in Cape Town in September last year following the execution of a search warrant on the death of Burger.

He was accused of placing a bag over the man's head and administering helium with the intention of causing asphyxiation. The South African born professor first made headlines in 2010 when he helped his terminally ill mother end her life in New Zealand. He was sentenced to five months of house arrest, Xinhua noted.
