Around 5,000 people,
including several differently-abled sports enthusiasts, from
across the country participated in the fourth edition of 'Tata
Steel Bhubaneswar Half Marathon' held here on Sunday.
Describing the event as "immense success" this year,
Tata Steel in a statement said this is the only professional
half marathon run of the city organised by the steel major in
association with Odisha's Sports and Youth Services
Department.
The half marathon, flagged off by Odisha Governor
Ganeshi Lal, covered a distance of 21.1 km starting from
Kalinga Stadium and moving on to the National Highway through
Jaydev Vihar, past Khandagiri Square and returning via the
same route.
This was followed by the 10 km run for women and men,
and the 5 km run for girls and boys under 16 years of age.
