Leopard carcass found in tea state at Valparai district

The carcass of a three-year-old leopard was found lying in a tea estate at Valparai in the district Thursday, police said. The animal, with bleeding injuries all over the body, was noticed by some estate workers.

Forest department officials, along with a veterinarian, recovered the carcass and burnt it after carrying out the post-mortem, department sources said. Officials suspect that the leopard could have died after a fight with some other wild animal some three days ago.
