Man with alleged JMB links held

The special task force (STF) ofthe Kolkata Police has arrested one person for his allegedlylink with the Jamaat ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB),a Bangladesh-based JMB terror outfit, from the city, a seniorofficial of the force said Saturday

Manirul Islam (42), a resident of Raghunathganj inMurshidabad district, was picked up from Sealdah station areaon Friday night, he said adding that he is an active JMBmember since 2010

The IPS officer said, "He used to visit MokimnagarMadrasa (in Murshidabad district) frequently for recruitmentpurposes. His idea was to ripe in persons from his localityand it's adjacent area and send them to Mokimnagar Madrasahfor training." The police were also probing his role in theKhagragarh blast in Burdwan in 2014.
