MDMK flag vandalised in Coimbatore; BJP activists' hand seen

Tension prevailed here for a while Monday when a flag mast of the MDMK was found lying on the footpath, police said. Suspecting this to be the handiwork of the BJP and Hindu outfits for the demonstration of the MDMK against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Tirupur Sunday, the local unit of the party lodged a complaint, the police said.

Investigations and examining of CCTV footage have begun to trace the vandals. There was a minor scuffle between the cadre of the MDMK and the Hindu outfits during the demonstration at Tirupur, in which a BJP woman activist sustained injuries.
