Bangkok-bound IndiGo flight diverted to Myanmar due to oil pressure warning

IndiGo's Bengaluru-Bangkok flight diverted to Yangoon in Myanmar on Tuesday due to oil pressure warning on one of its engines, the airline said. Around 129 passengers and six crew members onboard, who took off from Bengaluru, have landed safely to Yangoon.

"An IndiGo flight 6E 075, operating Bangalore-Bangkok route experienced an oil pressure warning on one of its engines. The aircraft is an A320 aircraft powered by V2500 engine. Our pilot followed the laid down procedure and landed the aircraft safely in Yangoon. The aircraft had not reported or observed snag on the earlier flight," IndiGo said.

"IndiGo has already rebooked all 129 passengers to Bangkok on other airlines and initiated rebooking of all the passengers on the flight from Bangkok back to Bangalore. IndiGo will provide accommodation to passengers as required," the statement added.

The affected engine is currently being investigated and the further course of action will be determined accordingly.

On Feb 9, Jet Airways flight 9W 703 from Mumbai to Dehradun was diverted to Chandigarh to a technical reason and the diversion was as per procedure. (ANI)
