Major mishap avoided as Explosive device neutralised in J&K's Akhnoor

A possible tragedy was averted on Saturday by the timely detection and defusion of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Khour area of Akhnoor. "A suspicious item was found near Nandwal chowk area here. It was vacated and the Army was called. The item was confirmed to be an IED following which it was properly neutralised," said Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Tejinder Singh. Further investigation is underway.
