Assembly Speaker steps down from post over nomination for LS polls

The Puducherry Assembly Speaker V Vaithilingam quit the post on Thursday as he is the Congress nominee for the Lok Sabha election here. Deputy Speaker V P Sivakolundhu to whom Vaithilingamsubmitted the letter of resignation from the post of Speaker,told PTI that he would look after the duties of the Speaker

Vaithilingam will file the nomination for the LokSabha polls tomorrow, according to party sources.
