The Union Territory, which is the common capital of Haryana and Punjab, received 11.3 mm of rains. In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded near similar maximums of 40.2 degrees Celsius, 40.4 degrees Celsius and 40.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, which hovered close to normal limits.

The MeT has forecast dust or thunderstorm accompanied by squall having a wind speed in excess of 40-50 kmph likely at isolated places on June 5 and 6 in Haryana and Punjab. Light rains are also likely at isolated places in the two states until Friday, as per the MeT forecast.
