Two trucks with over 10 ton silver bars detained in Hyderabad

Two trucks carrying over 10 tons of silver bars, worth about Rs 38 crore, were detained here after police found them being unloaded into mini-trucks by the side of a road. When police on suspicion checked the trucks, they found the consignment to be silver bars, which the occupants claimed were imported from London to Chennai, from where it was brought here.

The documents were being verified by Goods and Services Tax (GST) officials and if they were found to be genuine, the consignment would be released, police said. "The GST officials were informed in this regard and they are verifying the documents," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Begumpet Division) Ram Reddy told PTI.
