BJP's Tamil Nadu unit chief Tamilisai Soundrarajan Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the DMK, claiming that there were water shortage and even power crisis during that party's rule in the State. Soundrarajan claimed even DMK politicians had encroached water bodies and some government structures were built on such locations.
The statement comes a day after the DMK flayed the ruling AIADMK for "inefficient handling" of the water shortage in the State. "Even DMK politicians have encroached water bodies in several places. M K Stalin (DMK chief) has forgotten a thing that his party has also ruled the state for roughly five times," she told reporters here.
There was water shortage and there was power crisis even during their rule, she alleged, adding that they were making such statements forgetting the past. On DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran's launching a blistering attack in the Lok Sabha on the Tamil Nadu government describing it as the "most corrupt" and the AIADMK a "slave" of the BJP, Soundararajan claimed DMK was the only party that was dismissed on corruption charges.
The BJP leader also ridiculed Stalin's reported statements on early fall of the AIADMK government and said, "Neither was there a change in the government at the Centre (after Lok Sabha polls) nor in the State (after assembly by-polls). He will keep saying that." The BJP is an ally of the AIADMK.
