President Kovind offers worship at shrines in Tirupati Tirupati, July 13 (PTI): President Ram Nath Kovind has arrived at Tirumala, the famous hill abode of Lord Venkateswara, to offer worship on Sunday, a temple official said. Before reaching the hills, Ram Nath Kovind accompanied by family members offered worship at two ancient shrines, the temple official told PTI Saturday.
Upon arrival at the Renigunta airport near here, the President, en route to Tirumala Hills, visited the shrine of goddess Padmavathi in Tiruchanur and later the shrine of Lord Shiva in Kapilatheeram. Earlier, the President was received by Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, a government official said.
After an overnight stay on the hills and visit to the shrine on Sunday morning, the President would leave for Sriharikota, 100 km from here, to witness the launch of the lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 on July 15, the official said.
